San Rafael

San Rafael is the oldest and one of the largest cities in Marin County blending urban charm with a rich historical and cultural heritage. Known for its warmer climate, beautiful landscapes, and vibrant community, San Rafael offers something for everyone.

The culinary scene is diverse and eclectic, offering options like Sol Food, a Puerto Rican restaurant that is so popular it often has a line out the door.  Local Micro-breweries with great happy hours and casual ambiance include Pond Farm Brewing and The State Room.

San Rafael features of variety of neighborhoods from Gerstle Park with its tree lined streets to Peacock Gap where the Peacock Golf Club is also located.  Other neighborhoods such as Terra Linda and Lucas Valley are  known for offering a nice variety of single story, light-filled Eichler homes. San Rafael is the home of the Marin County Civic Center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and a sprawling hiking and biking open space along the Bay called China Camp State Park.

Due to its larger size geographically, there are multiple elementary and middle schools throughout San Rafael.  For further information on San Rafael Schools:  San Rafael City Schools.
